Thinking:  I got a job!  I know I've been on Sabbatical , but I had an amaing opportunity land in my lap.  I'll be an Intervention teacher for grades 3-5.  I'm super excited, and have been Pinning away on Pinterest .  :) Wanting:  'nuff said.  I need to take time for myself. Needing:   a Laundry Fairy.  {Maybe I'll have my kiddos do it...  yeah, right!} {Puffy Heart}:   Daily walks - with Miss Mavis!; Occasional Meditation; I'll start drink...

Time to link up with Farley for Currently ! Ok - about the foot.  Apparently, I broke a toe.  Again.  I really need to come up with a good story, but truly, I was vacuuming and I stubbed my foot on a chair.  This was over a week ago, and it still hurts, so I ice it daily. My B2s must haves: 1) nuff said... 2) Love my Mystery Word of the Week sets, and I'm creating new sets using Science terms this year. 3) Comfy shoes - I think I'll try some Toms.  What do you think?

Currently April!

Yay!  April is here, and it was over 70 degrees today in NC.  It's a happy day to link up with Farley ! My hubby plays guitar.   I may have mentioned this before - and I am loving it.  We have music in the house all the time, and it's definitely a good thing for our kiddos - they are very musical. I bought a laminator, and I love, love, love it!  It's a Crofton from Aldi (love that store!) and it was marked down to $12.99.  Laminator love... a beautiful thing.  Here it is in action: laminating my Context Clues task cards laminating Tick Tock time cards from Christina Bainbridge Truly, I was able to spend some time reflecting this weekend on the blessings in my life - there are many.  I need to remember to focus on my blessings.  :) I want a vacay, and need a manicure... though I suppose they could both go in the "wants." My advice for future TpT sellers - proofread everything!  Have others proofread.  Mista...

Currently, Excuses, and Joy!

Image
Phew!  Am I the only one who felt that February just would. not. end?  I've got a ton of excuses for you as to why I've been MIA lately, but first I wanted to share what I am doing CuRrEnTly : If you haven't visited Farley yet, you should.  Fo sho.   I love, love, love a quiet house.  The kind of quiet where I can sleep as much as I want without mommy guilt, laundry, groceries, etc.  I can rest, read, and relax.  With everything that's been going on lately, my hubby and parents have treated me with this weekend of decadent quiet. The support I have gotten from my family and my friends has been amazing.  I had a recent health issue that required lots of doctors' visits, lots of tests (*not multiple choice!*), lots of stress, and lots of pain, all within the span of 3 weeks.  Tests are done, results are in, everything is treatable, and I feel much better!  My amazing hubby took over everything so I could mommy from bed or t...

Yay!  It's time to link up with Farley!!! I'm not sure about y'all, but I keep getting stressed   hyperventilating  freaking out when I hear about the level of accountability coming down next year in NC, so I've been fantasizing about a cubicle lately.  I think I might be having a *slight* midlife crisis.  So...  I am wanting less testing in 2nd grade!!!  I am excited about having a few Teacher Friends over tomorrow; it's great to get to chat!!!!  :)  What are y'all Currently up to?

Currently... Ramblings... {with Extra Ellipses!}

It's officially December, since Currently  is here!!  I seem to be addicted to ellipses lately, so... My family is amazing.  Right now my kiddos are running around giggling like mad.  It can mean they are playing... (fingers crossed) or they've just done something I'm not supposed to find out about...  I'll just believe they are giggling because they are playing!!  ;) My awesome team mate, Casey , is the person who single-handedly saved me yesterday.  Thankfully, she planned an amazing afternoon of craftivities for our classes to do as we became "roomless" before dismissal.  {I work at a year-round school , and I had to move out to give the next teacher an afternoon to move her stuff in... make a seating chart... ya' know)  It was awesome!!  All activities came from the unit by MOM Printables .  I can't tell you how great it was to sit back and watch over 40 kiddos work away at this.  :)  Highly Recommended!! Music in the Classroom, and Currently

Image
I was inspired to write this post after a chat with my buddy Casey , and we were talking about the way I use music in the classroom.  I have different music that goes with different moods/tasks.  For example: For Writing, we listen to Enya .  Specifically, Watermark .  (Really, anything by Enya  would probably accomplish the same thing.)  It's dreamy, new-agey background music, and my kiddos can still focus on their work.  I play it softly, and if our conferences are getting too loud, I simply ask someone at the other side of the room if they can still hear the music.  They stop and listen, then tell me they can't hear it.  That's the cue for the class to be quieter - they know if people can't hear the music, they can't have their calm, focused writing time.  Love it!! For Partner Work and Math, we listen to Vince Guaraldi .  This year, we're listening to Oh Good Grief!  My kiddos love it, and they recognize that thi...
