Organize your technology!
Every year, schools have a "budget season," when purchasing decisions must be made for the following year. If you are an administrator in a school that uses iPads or other mobile devices, you need to take a look at Tech Tubs from Copernicus Educational Products.
Please note: I originally shared this product review in May, 2015. It's a quality product that has held up well in the time since, so I thought I'd share it again. Solve the cord trap, and organize your mobile devices.
You probably have some of their carts and tubs, especially the teaching easels (click to view easels). As a specialist I worked in many schools as a specialist, and had on of these easels around 75% of the time. These products last a long time. I made sure to stop by their booth at the 2015 ED Expo, and saw some of the coolest new products around like Dewey, the Document Stand, which lets you use an iPad from your school as a document camera. Very cool way to project shared texts, science experiments, and shared writing. You can tell they have listened to people who use these devices.
I reached out to my contact from Copernicus, and they kindly sent me a Tech Tub Trolley to review. (Click here to explore all of the options on the Copernicus site.) This product is amazing; it's durable, portable, and organized. First, it comes with a Tech Tub, which stores and transports up to 6 tablets. The dividers are adjustable to protect each tablet individually. This thing is durable! Here's a demonstration involving a pair of scissors and a hammer:
I might have to keep that in mind... Ha! Also, it's made of plastic, which keeps it light. Add the rolling casters of the trolley, and tablets become so portable; students can transport materials between classrooms and buildings as needed. Love, love, love! Since I am in and out of classrooms, it is perfect for me to safely transport iPads for intervention groups, while saving my back! They would be perfect for schools with devices shared across grade levels.
Finally, when your class has multiple devices, cord management is a must! Check out how neat it looks. You can recharge 6 tablets using only 1 outlet, and won't lose your cords.
Can you tell I'm loving this? Here's mine, all loaded up and ready to go!
